This novel revolves around the social movement of caste in the environment of Tamil Nadu and the rituals, customs and untouchability it celebrates. In the background of his migration to Tamil Nadu in the early eighties, the narrator deals with the murders that occurred in the caste stratum and examines it in his way. This novel unfolds like an investigation in which puzzles slowly gets solved. The memories and views of people outside Tamil Nadu about the cultural environment of Tamil Nadu have been recorded from time to time in modern literature. But it can be said that it is for the first time a fiction emerged from an outsider dealing with Tamil Nadu's casteism and caste- driven killing as its primary issues. Another thread of the novel travels through the lives of non human beings. The peculiarity of this novel is that the stories about animals and birds, their bodies, birth, death, extinction, and their lives are fabricated with utmost care.
