Neurodivergent Stacie Ann Leininger is a member of the LGBTQ+ community. At age 16, she was diagnosed with PTSD. Then, as an adult, she fought to get her Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD diagnosis. Like many others, she slipped through the cracks and struggles to be heard.
Stacie hopes that her own battles help inspire others to keep pushing forward and write.
To Overcome is to Be, is a selection of hand-picked poems written by Stacie Ann Leininger between the ages of 13 and 22. Some of the pieces have been edited and/or revised between ages 42 and 45 for this publication to show young aspiring writers how their writing will evolve over time.
A portion of all sales will be donated to non-profits in memory of homicide victim Andrew James McMahon, 1980-1995.
These will include:
animal rescues
food pantries
places that assist persons with serious medical issues and/or those with disabilities
programs for at risk youths
Veterans groups
volunteer fire departments
and suicide prevention awareness groups.
