Full of large color photos of Queen Nefertari and the gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt, this book is a feast for the eyes and a delight for the heart. Called the Sistine Chapel of Egypt, the tomb walls were painted around 1250 BCE with an expertise and engaging beauty that equals or surpasses art from any time period. The symbolism within the wall paintings is explained and translated to give the reader a fuller, more in-depth experience of what was being expressed.
Note that this is not a book retelling the Egyptian legends. Rather, it guides the reader through an expanded experience with the imagery on the walls.

The hieroglyphic names are included with descriptions of the deities.
Chapter 1 shows you how to read Nefertari's name in hieroglyphs, as well as some of the other common words on the walls.
Chapter 2 gives a short history of Ancient Egypt and shows where Nefertari fits into that.
Chapter 3 explains how to understand Egyptian art - a symbolic language that tells a story.
The following chapters are about the gods and goddesses that appear on the walls.
