The Tragedy of Titus Andronicus is a play written by William Shakespeare in 1593. The play is set in ancient Rome and revolves around the titular character, General Titus Andronicus, and his family. They manipulate Titus's sons and daughters, leading to their gruesome deaths. Titus becomes consumed with revenge and eventually kills Tamora's remaining sons, bakes them into a pie, and serves it to her at a banquet. The play ends with Titus killing Tamora and then being killed himself.The Tragedy of Titus Andronicus is known for its extreme violence and gore, which was unusual for Shakespeare's time.
