The analysis of Elif Shafak's Turkish psychological fiction in English, 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in this Strange World (Shafak, 2019), precedes a discussion and summary of trauma theory, which is primarily used in this study. On trauma, most of the work generated in 1990s. Many theories and testing and diagnosing processes were developed to study victims and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
