On a scorching summer day, 11-year-olds Zack and Tommy, desperate for something exciting, head to the Johnsons' backyard to check out their new pool. To their surprise, they discover a talking turtle named Tully floating in the water. Tully reveals he's been waiting for them and invites the boys to explore a hidden world of magic. Did you hear that? Zack whispered, suddenly alert. Tommy frowned. Hear what? Zack motioned for him to listen, and sure enough, they both heard it: a voice. Faint, but unmistakable, drifting toward them from the pool. Hello there, young adventurers, the voice said, calm and unexpected. Zack and Tommy froze. They exchanged wide-eyed glances, their hearts pounding. Slowly, they peered over the fence. What... is that? Tommy gasped, pointing toward the pool. At first glance, it seemed ordinary - just water gently rippling in the heat. But there, floating lazily on a bright red pool noodle, was a turtle. And it was talking' Don't be shy, the turtle said, its voice smooth and surprisingly deep. Come closer. Zack's jaw dropped. Are we... are we really seeing this? he stammered, rubbing his eyes as if to erase an illusion.
