The novel unfolds in two interconnected parts.
The first, originally published in 2007 under the title The Rainbow Warrior, follows Basil, a fifteen-year-old boy from New York, and Carola, a thirteen-year-old girl from Madrid. Drawn through their computer screens into the distant world of Plutonio, they discover a civilisation once united by peace, wisdom and harmony under the guidance of the immortal Rainbow Warrior-the spiritual and temporal leader of the Kuyichis and founder of the Movement of Light.
Yet this idyllic world has been corrupted. Two mysterious visitors from Earth, Daimon and Burba, have transformed hope into fear and freedom into oppression. Daimon establishes the sinister Empire of Darkness, whilst Burba turns the once-magical Queendom of Fairystan into a ruthless dictatorship. Basil and Carola find themselves at the centre of an extraordinary quest to help the resistance restore liberty before the light is extinguished forever.
The second part brings the conflict much closer to home.
Set in a not-too-distant future, the battle moves to Planet Earth, where the forces of darkness seek to establish a One World Government under the Empire of Darkness. Standing against them are the defenders of freedom, inspired by the ancient wisdom of the Hopi people and guided by the enduring principles of compassion, courage and spiritual awakening.
