More than a few of the citizens and even some of the Guardians of Tayhunner, firmly believed that 'The Powers That Be', were playing with them. Whether for their amusement or just because they were bored, was irrelevant; they felt as if their lives were being manipulated. Then there were those, that saw the challenges that had beset their once peaceful world as a test. For what aim, was not apparent, but what was, were the consistent threats, to their existence that forced them to be creative in how they handled them. Most would say they were winning. But when one deadly threat was finally removed there was still another and perhaps more serious threat to their way of life. It was a question asked by many. Would they still have one? Or would the Tayhunneran nation cease to exist when their children grew old and died? Many, however, still believed that they would be saved and lived in hope. They firmly believed that 'The Powers That Be' would not be so cruel, they just had to have faith. There were of course many who did not give credence to such theories of a higher power, they believed that their fate was theirs to create. These individuals would do everything in their power to prove that life was but a series of choices. Because what they believed, was that what mattered most, was how they handled them, and these individuals intended to fight, no matter the cost to ensure Tayhunner had the future they envisioned.
