Based on true stories, a Texas sharecropper's family moves to Kansas where the boy believes monsters lurk and that is why those bright streetlights must shine all night long. Things are strange. As a teenager, he and his friends cause chaos and disturb the peace with their rowdiness, high jinks, and general orneriness, causing some people to believe that teenagers ought to be outlawed. A free, lively, often politically incorrect, and sometimes downright dangerous era, the 50s were the very best time to be young, adventurous, and daring. The possibilities were endless, boundaries often absent, and the world was waiting.
