This is a fictional story about the technological and other achievements of the Martians during the brief period between 230 and 200 BC. At that time, the Martians had already attained a level of development surpassing that of the present time on Earth. Their advanced space technology enabled them to venture out to explore other worlds. They visited Earth many times, and were mesmerized by the various cultures of its inhabitants. They knew that they could invade or colonize Earth with relative ease, and plunder their natural and human resources. Nevertheless, the Martian leaders, despite heavy opposition from business and religious organizations, decided not to do so but instituted a permanent policy of non-interference instead. Unfortunately, an enormous tragedy struck that reduced the Martians to cave dwellers. Their planet gradually turned from watery blue to barren red. Is there a lesson to be learned from this brief span of Martian history? This novel will take you there to see what happened.
