It's another exciting year in Miss Brooke's 3rd grade class. This year, 10 new students are introduced and share their unique challenge with the reader. Through poems and stories, sensitive topics are introduced, like Obesity, Lyme Disease, Vitiligo, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Homelessness, and Epilepsy. Students describe their experience living with these challenges and bring awareness of the difficulty a classroom setting can be. Each student has a dedicated poem, tips to make students with challenges more comfortable, and discussion questions for parents and teachers to encourage conversation.

My favorite character in Book 3 is Haley because she's homeless and has kept it a secret from her peers. It's estimated that 2.5 million children are homeless in the United States and this problem should have more awareness!
