One of the most popular humorists of the 20th century was English novelist P.G. Wodehouse. Wodehouse put a lot of effort into writing his works, frequently working on two or more at once. He may spend up to two years developing the narrative and penning a thirty thousand word scenario. He would finish the scene and then write the narrative.
