The Flores River Basin is a sub-basin of the Mearim River, one of the largest rivers in Maranhão. There is a need for greater dissemination of knowledge about the interior of Maranhão, strengthening the conservation of the most fragile environments and linking this knowledge to the movement of the people in favour of a more sustainable society.
