This book is the account of a young 21-year old Michigan girl who enlisted with the Red Cross and flew to Louisiana to work on the frontlines of the Hurricane Katrina Operation. She fluently spoke several languages and was instrumental in communicating with the survivors in the disaster recovery efforts, even risking her life multiple times to save others. She was robbed, attacked by fire ants, dealt with a bomb threat, hostile aggressors, witnessed horrors never afore-mentioned and much more. This is a day-to-day detailed memoir of those hectic days and all that she encountered in the devastating hurricane aftermath. It is a tribute to the courage and resilience of a young person making a difference in the world.
