Sophie Maguire is ready for her new chapter in life: to begin planning her wedding to her billionaire fiance, Connor Quaide. A young, executive secretary at Quaide Enterprises in Manhattan, Sophie soon resigns from her position to follow Connor to his family's multi-billion dollar estate on a lakeside chalet surrounded by nature; dozens of miles from civilization and the nearest neighbor. However once Sophie arrives at Quaide Lake, she realizes her dream of being a summer bride is one that becomes a nightmare. Shrouded in family secrets, the mansion and its family members are withdrawn and very cold toward her. When she discovers that other young brides from the Quaide family had met formidable deaths here on Quaide Lake, Sophie begins to dread her decision to be a Quaide bride herself. Sophie's horror becomes a reality when one day she explores the rambling, grand chalet and visits its attic, the Tower Room. Within it, she comes across a large-scaled doll house exquisitely created, with each room a carbon-copy of the chalet itself. In each room, there are dolls that represent each member of the family. It is spellbinding, but its presence is eerie and it is forbidden to be discussed by any of the Quaide family. Connor becomes dismissive while Sophie begs for answers surrounding the Quaide secrets and the enormous doll house. When his uncle and grandmother finally disclose information to Sophie, they, too, meet untimely deaths. The terror seizes Sophie when she realizes that with each death, each respectable doll in the Tower Room is found to suffer the same fate within the replica house. Sophie's worst nightmare comes true when she finds a new doll of herself within the doll house. Does this doll represent Sophie's upcoming death too? With the help of a neighbor who acts as the family air pilot, Sophie must find out if the house is cursed or if there is a madman killer within the Quaide Chalet. Will Sophie's summer become one where she follows the other tragic brides' deaths? Will she meet her demise there at the lake, build her love with Connor, or follow her heart and accept the pilot, Roy's invitation for a romantic tryst?
