The aim of this study was to assess the physical, mechanical and biological behaviour of Pinus elliottii wood treated with titania nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were synthesised using the microwave-assisted hydrothermal method. The wood samples were treated with titania at a concentration of 1750 g/ml and with CCB (26% copper sulphate, 63.5% sodium dichromate and 10.5% boric acid), both impregnated using pressure (Bethel method) and immersion. The main results achieved with the proposed treatment showed a significant influence on the biological tests, which protected the wood against fungi, as did the CCB, preserving its natural physical and mechanical properties. Thus, the nanoceramic used can be considered promising for advances in the field of wood technology, replacing the most commonly used traditional treatments in the future.
