La correspondència que Marian Espinal (Terrassa, 1897 - Cunit 1974) conservava al seu escriptori, està formada per un conjunt de cartes i postals que el pintor va escriure a la seva famÃlia entre 1916 i 1931, i per un recull de cartes i postals que els seus amics, companys i altres persones li van enviar entre 1915 i 1965. Del primer grup són d'especial interès les cartes i postals enviades des de ParÃs entre 1919 i 1921, però també les postals enviades des de Tossa l'estiu de 1918 o les cartes que va escriure a Maria Vancells els anys de prometatge, sense oblidar la carta on refereix als seus pares l'ajut que ha prestat a Togores, un ajut que ara podem saber que va resultar transcendent. Unes i altres són documents deliciosos que ens mostren la visió del món d'un jove artista, entusiasta i generós, empès per l'ambició de construir una obra i esdevenir un pintor reconegut.
