何谓道？道者，首也，路也，路之起头也，万有之根源也，道理也，逻辑也，话也，言说也，绝对之道德标准也，至善也......
吾国思想，以儒、释、道三家为主流。道与儒固无论矣，即释家所云佛性、真如，亦何莫而非道也。孔子曰，道不同，不相为谋。则异道之间，不能相授受，自古而然，不足异也。
愚治中国学术，始自儒家，攻学硕士阶段，乃入道家。其后数十年，教学之中，盖用力与此，既深且博。而老庄学会会长杨汝舟博士，启发独多，深为感谢。
今将既往有关中国的道家著作，汇集成书。以字数限制，分成两册。
上册以先秦道家思想研究起首，盖愚之硕士论文也。溯道家之起源，开后来之枝叶。
以后谈道德经神秘主义，乃西方学者牵老子于基督信仰之一见，可供参考。
后接庄子篇目考，乃于庄子作精密之考证，于不疑之处生疑，细密精微，而亦不妨义理之探究。
下册以老子王弼学起首，则对道家创始之始祖，其思想，作深入而彻底之抉发，谓之老子大全，亦不为过。
再后是道家之养生术，盖自老子，流变至后世道家，斯学亦道家学术之一个特色也。
吾国文化，儒、释、道三家，各有所长、亦各有千秋，前贤智慧，烛照光明；后学弟子，宜如何珍而勿忘，发扬蹈厉，以兴我华夏之辉光，愿与读者相互期勉之！
