This newly expanded second edition includes three classical texts traditionally associated with the legendary Daoist master Zhang Sanfeng-mystic, alchemist, and teacher of the inner Way:
- Speaking of the Dao in Simple Words
- Song of Meditation
- Ninefold Dao Ballad (九更道情)
All texts are presented with detailed commentary, exploring both practical teachings and symbolic dimensions. Where needed, the original Chinese is provided alongside insights into how terms were translated and interpreted. The first text, Speaking of the Dao in Simple Words, has again been divided into thematic sections with added titles for clarity, allowing easier navigation through its many layered topics.
