This book of successfully demonstrated the application of obtained good quality genomic DNA checked by Qualitative analysis of gel electrophoresis and Quantitative analysis of nanodrop. Using the PCR technique, the mitochondrial COI gene was successfully amplified and sequenced from Spodoptera frugiperda in sorghum plant. The obtained sequences were 650-700 bp in length. Phylogenetic analysis the obtained sequences using phylogenetic tree the evolutionary relationships among Spodoptera frugiperda populations, and distinguish it from other closely related species. DNA barcoding study highlights the importance of accurate identification, crop protection study, biological control, precision farming of S. frugiperda. The results of this study can be used to develop effective pest management strategies for controlling Spodoptera frugiperda populations.
