A day workshop offers people with disabilities a protected environment. For day workshop employees (clients), it is a place of safety, the significance of which has been changed by the amendment to the Styrian Disability Act. In view of this situation, the aim of this study is to investigate whether day workshop employees are satisfied with their current work situation, whether they are aware of their rights and whether they know that they can leave the protected environment (cooperative enterprises; work assistance; work in the primary labour market). In addition, the reasons for employment in day workshops were collected using empirical data.
