Anthropology as a science of man is understood as an effort to regain knowledge of man as a philosophical sub-discipline between ethics and pedagogy. This includes theological anthropology, cultural and social anthropology, pedagogical anthropology, concepts of man and personality development. The aim is to methodically justify the fundamental rights and freedoms of human beings and, in conjunction with political education, to commit anthropological science in its state of knowledge to the recognition of human dignity. This is to be justified historically and systematically. This provides the context for civic education.Anthropology in a practical sense is understood as a reflection from the sub-disciplines of a science of man that has migrated from philosophy. The study results from the effort to gain anthropology for a practical application and thus to commit to a recognition of the moral law. Anthropology as an independent discipline examines the questions of human thought and the process of cognition with human peculiarities of being aware of oneself.
