The name Japanese Terrier is most commonly used to describe a toy dog breed with Japanese ancestry. However, it's important to note that the label Japanese Terrier can be deceiving, as many kennel clubs and organizations do not include these dogs in the terrier group.
Small in stature and weight, the Japanese Terrier typically ranges from 5 to 9 pounds (2 to 4 kilograms) and 8 to 13 inches (20 to 33 centimeters) at the shoulder. Their short, sleek coat comes in a variety of colors and patterns, including black and white or solid white with tan or black markings. They frequently cover their faces with a black mask.
