The Gouldian Finch or Erythrura gouldian as it is known in the scientific community, is a stunningly attractive and vibrantly colored bird species found in northern Australia. It is often regarded as one of the most beautiful types of finch. The Gouldian Finch's colorful plumage reflects the bird's gender and age in various ways.
Some distinguishing features of the Gouldian Finch are:
- There are three main morphs, or variants, in the plumage of adult Gouldian Finches: black-headed (the males of this morph have black heads), red-headed (the males of this morph have red heads), and yellow-headed (the males of this morph have yellow heads).
