The plot of the book is not developing on the Black Sea, as the first three books, but it is on the California Ranch. Alenushka talks about her German shepherd dogs, who was protecting songbirds. It has an entertaining story about the rabbits who were sitting under the window, requiring a free supply of carrots. It has stories about small songbirds courageously fighting with the crows and protection their nests. It has an interesting story about the young Owl parents taught to fly their son and about their battle with the hawk; and others.
