Haddon Hall is an original light English opera written by Sydney Grundy and first published in 1892. The opera is divided into three acts and tells the story of two young lovers, Dorothy Vernon and John Manners, who must overcome obstacles in order to be together. Set in the 16th century at the historic Haddon Hall in Derbyshire, England, the opera features a cast of colorful characters, including Dorothy's father, Sir George Vernon, and his scheming wife, Lady Vernon. The music for Haddon Hall was composed by Arthur Sullivan, best known for his collaborations with W.S. Gilbert on the popular Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.
