This book is the result of a study/investigation into the pedagogical practice of a teacher specialising in special education with students with high abilities in a riverside school in the Amapá Amazon. The general aim of the research was to analyse the process of including students with high abilities from the 1st to the 5th year of primary school. The ribeirinhos are traditional Amazonian populations who live on the banks of rivers and have a dynamic relationship with nature. They live off the diversification of production in which they contribute to agriculture, cattle breeding, extractivism, fishing and the culture of self-consumption and self-survival.
