Due to the globalization of markets and the need for rapid responses to the environment in which they operate, organizations need to develop strategies capable of sustaining competitive advantage. The general aim of this work is to identify and analyze how human resources management aligns its processes with corporate strategy from the perspective of the balanced scorecard; how the process of establishing strategies at the corporate level takes place; how strategies at the corporate level are broken down into objectives and strategies at the functional level; as well as how managers use integrated communication mechanisms, goal setting and incentives or rewards to direct the human resources team. To this end, research was carried out in an organization in the automotive sector, which operates worldwide, with a corporate structure and six business units in Brazil. The results of the research point to the effectiveness of using the balanced scorecard as a tool for implementing strategies.
