En esta obra, el escritor expresa su particular visión de lo subyacente, mezclando la narrativa y el ensayo, y recurriendo a veces a la antigua simbología gnóstica, adaptándola ágilmente a un contexto contemporáneo. Recurre al mito de El Demiurgo (El Gran Emulador), como símbolo para evidenciar el artificio emulador en el que ha caído presa la mente contemporánea, tras haber sido seducida por las apariencias. Para que esta emulación pueda sustituir a la realidad, antes se debe confundir la conciencia humana. Objetivo que se consigue tras haber obcecado la mente con la continua persecución de un incongruente Paraíso Material (hoy denominado Progreso)
Después, el texto nos muestra el gran drama que ha supuesto el desenraizamiento del ser, tras la sistemática destrucción de los arquetipos. Unos arquetipos que fueron sacrificados en el altar de la productividad y la codicia. Lo Sublime, Lo Heróico, La Sabiduría, La Nobleza, La Virilidad, La Feminidad, Lo Diabólico..., han sido representados históricamente a través de imágenes arquetípicas, que han sido la base para el pensamiento mitológico. El pensamiento mitológico está dotado de una mayor capacidad para expresar Lo Inefable que el pensamiento conceptual, que suele quedarse atrapado en un excesivo literalismo.
Hay quienes, en un arrebato de rebeldía, se atreven a descubrir que, la necesidad de etiquetar conceptualmente todo lo que les sucede, borra la percepción de lo inefable, lo sutil y lo profundo.
Vivir limitados dentro de un reducto conceptual, nos arrebata la espaciosidad que requiere la mirada, para poder observar la existencia, en su legítima amplitud vivencial. Sin esa mirada, se provoca una ceguera vital, que nos obliga a caminar por los estrechos senderos, construidos entre los afilados arrecifes de una codicia tosca, haciéndonos caer finalmente en las agitadas aguas del miedo y el sufrimiento.
La implícita huida del origen, que subyace en pensamientos, palabras y actos, debe ser gradualmente mostrada ante la conciencia de aquellos que pretendan iniciar un camino de regreso.
Temeroso de su interioridad, el individuo ha pretendido encontrar el soporte que necesita en una alianza ilusoria, con las apariencias. Esta alianza está protegida por un codicioso poder, engrandecido por el impulso de innumerables seres que han aceptado sus condiciones. Es ante este poder donde el ciudadano ha acabado postrándose.
La posibilidad de ser genuinos y actuar espontáneamente, es descartada cuando los actos la contradicen. Esa posibilidad, una vez suprimida, se emula con una escenificación, o parodia, condimentada con las sapiencias usurpadas del trabajo noble de otros.
De esta forma surge un ego protagonista, que se ve involucrado en una interpretación bienintencionada, de la que, victimizadamente, pretende salir triunfador.
