En esta obra explico las visiones del profeta judÃo Daniel, quien viviera durante el tiempo de la deportación judÃa por parte del imperio babilonio. Su libro no es abordado por los rabinos en sus estudios, en cambio, en la escatologÃa cristiana, sus trabajos están plenamente presentes, sin embargo, basados en una suerte larga de erróneas interpretaciones que no se corresponden con los hechos.
La visión de la estatua de Nabucodonosor II, quien observa los grandes imperios que se establecerÃan en el mundo, comenzando con el suyo (el babilonio), en la forma de la cabeza de oro de la estatua. Luego la visión de las 4 bestias (cap. 4). Esta profecÃa requiere la información posteriormente dada a los escribanos judÃos Baruk y Ezra, donde se explican los asuntos de las tales bestias y del cuarto reino, el que muta hasta el final.
A continuación, la visión del macho cabrÃo y el carnero (cap. 8). Como en las visiones de Daniel, y lo que se sabe por los relatos helenos, tras la muerte de Alejandro se pasó el poder, no a sus herederos (que fueron asesinados), sino a sus 4 generales. Esta historia se complementa con otros relatos judÃos como las crónicas de los macabeos y las obras del historiador judÃo Tito Flavio Josefo. Esto también se conoce como la primera Abominación Asoladora, instigada por AntÃoco IV EpÃfanes.
La explicación del 9 del libro de Daniel se sucederÃa tras estos acontecimientos. La visión de 70 conjuraciones relativas desde los dÃas de Daniel hasta la destrucción de Judea. Se le narra al profeta cómo 7 de estas conjuraciones se desarrollarÃan para reestablecer a los judÃos en su tierra desde los dÃas del reinado de Cirio el grande. Posteriormente aparecerÃa el MesÃas y cumplirÃa 63 conjuraciones, pero serÃa asesinado y luego serÃa quitado de en medio de su pueblo. Sus seguidores cumplirÃan un Nuevo Pacto por él establecido antes y durante la reyerta militar de los judÃos contra los romanos, cuyos efectos devastadores comenzarÃan con las tropas de Tito destruyendo el templo (la última Abominación Asoladora) y acabarÃan en dÃas del emperador Adriano, quien expulsarÃa a los judÃos de su tierra.
La visión de un reino del norte contra un reino del sur (cap. 10 y 11). Acá se sucede la versión más amplia de los hechos históricos de ese entonces - y de este libro -, que inician con esa brutal guerra entre el imperio persa y el imperio macedonio, avanza hasta humillar a los persas, y se divide el poder de Alejandro Magno a Seléuco, Ptolomeo, Casandro y LisÃmaco. Para concluir, todos estos enfrentamientos bélicos empezaron a desarmarse cuando la república romana quedó eclipsada por el poder imperial, y asà comenzó el expansionismo y deseo de poder de conquista de los césares.
Finalmente, el misterio del capÃtulo 12 y de los malentendidos que tuvieron lugar en dÃas de Jesús, cuando volvió a mencionar el vaticinio de la Abominación Asoladora. La confusión que hubo en dÃas previos a la crucifixión de Yeshua, momento en que él mencionó la destrucción de Yerushalim (que tuvo lugar unos 30 años más tarde), ya que en la conversación hablaron de varios temas, unos no conectados con otros, mas los intérpretes escatólogos creyeron - como muchos de los entonces presentes que oÃan a Yeshua - que se referÃa a una serie de sucesos que tendrÃan lugar en un mismo periodo de tiempo.
