José Trigueirinho Netto is widely regarded as one of the most important and prolific spiritual instructors of the 20th century, with over 80 books published in Portuguese and Spanish as well as in four other languages. In addition to his books and recordings of his over 3,000 lectures, he is the founder of spiritual communities on three continents, the co-founder of a monastic order, and the inspiration for an international humanitarian effort that has brought dignity, comfort and support to refugees in more than 15 counties.
Despite these monumental achievements his work is mostly unknown in North America. The purpose of this book therefore is to introduce his work to an English-speaking audience and to call attention to the wide-range of topics he addressed, ranging from the ecological crisis and the collective karma accrued from committing social injustices to the goal of personal transformation, providing support to others in times of crisis, and healing our relationship to the animal, vegetable and mineral kingdoms. His work is vast and addresses topics rarely discussed by spiritual teachers and spiritual systems, topics of contemporary importance and guidance for living a life devoted to spirituality and self-transformation while living in the world in service of others.
A brief perusal of the table of contents will provide evidence of the breath of his work and the insight he offers into difficult and/or contemporary issues, including: global warming, mercy, family life, healing, the correct use of money, faith, the feminine polarity, and spiritual service, as well as important themes relating to spiritual transformation, such as the need for silence, meditation, prayer, impersonality, detachment, spiritual and planetary evolution, purification and more.
His work reveals a deeper comprehension of the significance of the Kingdoms of Nature on our planet and our relationship to them, the spiritual task of the human being, its place in the universe and also its responsibility before Creation.
Finally, he clarifies the reasons for the crisis that today is devastating humanity, teaching us how to avoid reacting negatively to an immanent natural catastrophe by contacting more subtle levels of consciousness, and opening perspectives for the beginning of a more luminous cycle for our race.
