Seeing as his uncle is confined to a sanitarium due to having gone mad, insisting on confessing in an old Romanian scripted garbled scrawl, Serafina is one of only a few who really know what Pierre is up to. The story picks up at the inquest months later, with flashbacks to events occurring at the time of his death.
