As parents, we have the unique opportunity to personify the love of Christ for our children. The most rewarding way to do this is by loving our children the way Christ loves us. Sometimes, love is easy. Other times, it is incredibly difficult. All the time, it is possible.
God is glorified when a mother's love is not dependent on a child's behavior. It is from God's extended mercy that a mom can embrace her child with arms full of grace. As the author's child has endured a rare brain cancer and most recently a rare form of epilepsy, she has found the strength to love him intently with an inexhaustible love that is not based on an unattainable standard.
This book is for moms and children alike. Both need to be reminded of the unconditional love Jesus bestows upon them each day. God has purposefully designed the family to illustrate His love to both each other and ultimately to our world.
