With the conclusion of Christmas in Jamshedpur, Jon starts on the long journey that will take him back home to Tucson. He travels with his wife and brother in law into Bihar on a Buddhist pilgrimage. They first go to Bodh Gaya, where the Buddha obtained enlightenment, then to other Buddhist sites in Bihar. They end their Bihar trip in Ranchi, the state capital, from which they venture out to Arrah, a small town in the Bihari interior. They are in search of family history. Three family members served as clergymen in the small Methodist Church there. Jon then returns to his home in Tucson, passing through Delhi, Amsterdam, and Atlanta. He arrives home changed but still processing his experience. It will take some time to return to normal.
