This book looks at divorce and remarriage in the Bible. Man was created to lead his family and have rule over all of God's creation. His wife was created to help him in this mission (Genesis 2:18). Marriage was a covenant that was meant for life. Divorce was not designed in the beginning (Matthew 19:8). God joined the two people into one flesh. Man should not separate what God joined together (Matthew 19:6). This was the main message. That is why Paul said, woman is not to separate, and man is not to divorce (1 Corinthians 7:10-11). The only time we should use the exception clause is if our unbelieving spouse has already left the marriage (1 Corinthians 7:15). Believers should not and ought not to divorce one another. This was a command by Jesus (1 Corinthians 7:10).
