CMV exhibits a notably high seroprevalence among Indian blood donors, with IgG positivity rates reported between 90% and 97%, reflecting widespread prior exposure, while IgM positivity remains low, indicating fewer recent infections . Parvovirus B19 seroprevalence studies indicate that IgG antibodies are present in approximately 27% to 40% of donors, signifying previous exposure, with IgM antibodies detected in about 1.4% to 7.5% of donors, pointing to current or recent infections.
