En cierto modo es el modo de hacerse en el lector el libro, es como si de Machado hubiese asumido la sentencia, Caminante no hay camino... se hace camino... al leer y en la palabra se llega a su destino. Y el destino de este libro lo dispuso su autor a su lector, como en principio hizo dios para que escogiésemos el bien el mal o por capÃtulos, solo que Zabala negó el libre albedrio. Zabala en esta obra quiere obligarnos a descubrir lo hecho y en ese descubrimiento, como condición sustantiva, necesaria serÃa mejor decir, que nos reconozcamos a nosotros mismos, en ese largo tiempo que Venezuela ha iniciado y cerrado caminos.
