Truth, freedom, justice, honor, and love are the cornerstones of a successful society. They stimulate progress and help to bring positive changes to humanity. A necessary component of improvement is being real about social issues that affect the quality of life of others. Turn The Tables presents a set of songs and poems that empower readers to take a stand for what they deem to be important. The darkness of hatred can only be overcome by the lightness of love. I have dedicated a special song to Emmett Till (an African-American boy who was lynched by the KKK) and Azmir Alispahic (a Bosnian Muslim boy who was murdered by Serbian Chetniks), two innocent young people who were victims of brutal racism and nationalism. I firmly believe that speaking out against evil will help lead to a brighter future for everyone.
