This little book is the edited version of the diary I kept, with some of the photos, whilst cycling Sweden's east coast and into Norway. It charts ferry and train journeys from home, in Somerset, with my bike, to my starting point at Stockholm. From the book it's possible to trace my route and thoughts along the way. Along with a record of places there are descriptions of some of the encounters I had with strangers, which, for someone as shy as myself, make for poignant memories. Every journey has its negatives and positives. I was witness to an uncomfortable incident of racism on the ferry to Holland, which troubled me for some time after. As did the sight, and meeting, of poor Eastern European migrants. The views across the fjords in Northern Norway are, as always, unbeatable, for me, and my photos and descriptions can never do them justice. All in all I had a months adventure on a low budget. I hope you will enjoy this book.
