En 1607 Tirso de Molina escribió la comedia hagiográfica Los lagos de San Vicente sobre la vida, legendaria y heroica, de Santa Casilda. Según la historia Casilda hija del emir de Toledo y practicando la caridad, solÃa llevar alimentos a los prisioneros cristianos detenidos por su padre.
Los lagos de San Vicente presenta las vicisitudes de Santa Casilda para encontrar la cura de una enfermedad que padece en la sangre y que la aflige. Casilda rechaza la asistencia médica por parte de médicos musulmanes y milagrosamente encuentra la cura en el mundo cristiano. En este trayecto se presenta la evolución intelectual y espiritual de la futura santa en defensa de la fe cristiana.
