L'humanité, dès ses débuts, a voulu enquêter sur l'origine et la composition des choses, découvrir leur fonctionnement et leur finalité intime.
La méthode universellement utilisée consiste à décomposer les objets en parties de plus en plus petites, puis à les analyser avec toutes les techniques possibles, de l'investigation visuelle aux réactions chimiques. Cela se produit encore aujourd'hui. Par exemple, si un scientifique veut découvrir la structure chimique et physique d'un cube de granit, il le divisera en morceaux de plus en plus petits jusqu'à ce qu'il soit divisé en atomes individuels.
Cependant, si le scientifique lui-même veut enquêter sur les particules individuelles qui composent l'atome, il reçoit une incroyable surprise. Le cube de granit se comporte comme un glaçon. Le scientifique voit la matière qui devient brouillard, s'évapore, disparaît entre ses doigts. La matière solide devient une énergie qui vibre.
Les particules individuelles se transforment en ondes fluctuantes sans aucune corporéité solide.
Au niveau subatomique, la matière n'est plus une matière solide, elle devient quelque chose de différent.
Les particules élémentaires nous trompent. Elles ressemblent à des taches solides si quelqu'un les observe, mais elles se comportent comme des ondes vibrantes lorsqu'elles ne sont pas observées.
Les atomes ne contiennent pratiquement que du vide.
En surface, nous pensons pouvoir toucher, peser, manipuler et mesurer la matière. Mais, dans sa composition la plus intime, la matière devient une ondulation de vide, d'énergie, d'information, d'onde ou de vibration. Ce qui nous semble une matière solide, dans son essence la plus intime, n'est plus une matière solide.
À ce stade, il est clair que nous ne pouvons plus parler d'une seule réalité. Selon les niveaux d'observation, de l'extrême petit à l'infiniment grand, il existe de nombreuses réalités, toutes différentes mais toutes absolument vraies.
Ou, peut-être, il y a de nombreux aspects d'une réalité supérieure, encore inconnus. Toutes les philosophies et religions ont toujours émis l'hypothèse d'une «zone de l'esprit transcendant la matière; personne, cependant, n'a jamais pu apporter la preuve de son existence. Aujourd'hui, la physique quantique ouvre une immense fenêtre sur des horizons que, jusqu'au siècle dernier, nous n'aurions pas pu imaginer. Les confirmations viennent des expériences menées avec succès, notamment celles relatives au phénomène d'intrication quantique.
Aujourd'hui, nous savons qu'il existe un niveau de réalité qui n'est plus soumis aux contraintes de la physique newtonienne. La physique de la matière ne suffit plus à décrire l'univers.
La physique quantique démontre l'existence d'un niveau dans lequel l'énergie et l'information prennent le dessus sur la matière. C'est le niveau dit non local. Nous pourrions le définir à un niveau psychique ou spirituel. A ce niveau, une Intelligence universelle interagit avec l'humanité. Les voies de communication avec l'univers intelligent passent par l'inconscient collectif théorisé par Carl Jung.-
