It was a misty morning. The town buzzed with life. It was covered in the proverbial London fog. The three terrorists entered the building hosting the conference. They went through the metal detector without setting off the alarm. Their weapons were waiting for them at the back of the building, where they were placed in the trash bin area earlier, in trash bags. The Warriors entered the room for the inauguration talk and the panel presentations. There was a break after the first presentation. The Warriors met in the canteen. From there, they went to go to the back of the building to fetch the weapons. A security guard at the back of the building, however, stopped them. No one may leave the building through the back, he informed them. Jake looked at his friends and pushed the guard aside. As he was falling to the ground, the guard screamed into his walkie talkie: Mayday, mayday! Who was that? a security guard from the personnel checking the guests entering the premises shouted. That was Mike, at the rear of the building, replied the second in command. Team A to the rear of the building! shouted the chief and rushed to the stairs. Three guards followed him. They emerged at the back of the building and came upon the terrorists as they were retrieving their wares. Freeze! Johnston shouted and pointed his weapon at them. The three guards did likewise. The terrorists froze. Two tried to take their weapons from the bags. As the first terrorist reached inside the bag to pull take out the AK47, Johnston pulled the trigger. The smell of gunpowder filled the air. The terrorist staggered and fell. The second terrorist did not fare any better. Upon seeing his friends writhing on the ground, Jake turned pale. The bag with the assault weapon fell to the ground. He raised his hands. His martyrdom operation was finished. The police arrived within minutes. They arrested all three terrorists. An ambulance took away the two wounded Warriors. Thus ended the martyrdom operation of Jihadi Jake. Jake the Jihadi in handcuffs was in shock. Suddenly his world changed. Why did Allah not help us in our mission, he kept asking himself. He was detained in a cell at a police station. A policeman interrogated him. Why did you do this, the officer asked him. We are fighting against the kuffar. The organizers of the conference aim to undermine Islam, he said. The prophet asked us to fight jihad to make Islam prevail over all religions by word and, if necessary, by force, Jake elaborated. I see, the policeman said. And does that entail killing civilians that are not combatants? The officer enquired. We do not differentiate between civilians and combatants when assaulting the enemy. The building was like a fort. Everybody in it was a combatant, Jake explained. In a few days' time, Jake was transferred to a pre-trial facility. Finally, Jake was brought in front of a judge. You are charged with a terrorist offense under the Criminal Code of the United Kingdom, a judge informed Jake. Weapons were found at the back of the building where you were presumably 'attending' a conference, the judge said. Your fingerprints and those of your accomplices were found all over the weapons, the judge elaborated. And you were intercepted by security guards at the Institute just as you were retrieving the weapons, the judge added. You are a terrorist. You planned to take the lives of innocent persons. And you claim to do this in the name of your religion, Islam? a judge said to Jake. I do not believe your religions teaches what you practice. You are a pervert. I am sentencing you to ten years in prison without parole, the judge added. Jake turned deathly pale. The wife burst into tears. His friend hung his head. Jake was sentenced on all three charges, unlawful possession of firearms, weapons smuggling, and terrorism. He was given a ten-year prison term, and taken to Belmarsh.
